NYSE Technologies, the commercial tech arm of the stock exchange, has turned its middleware API over to Open Source. It said the move would streamline the implementation of new trading technology solutions by provididing a simple, consistent API. The software which has been handed over to The LInux Foundation is the NYSE Technologies’ Middleware Agnostic Messaging API, known lovingly as MAMA. Now it will be known as OpenMAMA and governed by a steering committee of such finance industry luminaries as J.P.
